The Foundation for Tulsa Schools is excited to launch the Good Night Tulsa children’s book, written and illustrated by Tulsa Public Schools teachers and staff. From red pandas at the Tulsa Zoo to the Golden Driller, this book brings to life a diverse variety of 24 iconic locations across our city.
In addition to highlighting Tulsa’s unique attributes and building a sense of community pride, a goal of the Good Night Tulsa project is to promote the love of reading and enhance literacy competence for the children of Tulsa.
We have a created a one-for-one model; for every book sold another will be donated to a student at a Tulsa Public Schools Title 1 elementary school.
Proceeds from Good Night Tulsa will benefit the programs of the Foundation for Tulsa Schools, including Partners in Education, which unites businesses, faith-based organizations and the community to support students in Tulsa Public Schools, whether they’re learning at home or physically in the classroom. As our teachers and students continue their work through distance learning, we are focusing our efforts on supporting those remote classroom needs.
In addition, proceeds will support Grants for Great Ideas, which allows teachers to submit grant applications for classroom needs. Due to distance learning, we know those needs have changed, but the passion and innovation of these teachers has only grown stronger as they work tirelessly to engage their students in learning.
