Educational Experience:
The Greenwood Cultural Center (GCC) houses several exhibits regarding the 1921 Tulsa Race Riot and Black Wall Street. The exhibits poignantly tell the story of the African-American experience in Tulsa, Oklahoma with photographs, newspaper and magazine articles and documentary. GCC also maintains the Mabel B. Little Heritage House, a historic home that once belonged to two race riot survivors. The home, with some of its original furnishings gives visitors/students a glimpse into the lifestyle of some African-Americans prior to and following the riot. GCC offers interactive guided tours upon request; walk-ins are always welcome during normal business hours.
